Setting Up MFA Authentication Method
In order to fight increasing cyber security threats that are immerging daily, security measures have been put in place to protect your account and data. When you sign in if you are prompted to provide more information to your organization, this is Microsoft's way of saying MFA has been enabled and you will need to provide your phone number as an authentication method to increase security posture. Below are some pictures and instructions to help with the process of setting this up.
- When you first sign in, you may see the message below indicating that you need to setup an authentication method.
- Click next and the photo below will appear. Fill in your mobile phone number and choose the preferred method of contact.
- After you provide the contact method, you will receive a text and you will be asked to enter a code that was include in the text message. Put the code in an continue.
- You phone authentication method will then be verified and ready to use.
- Next click done and you will be signed into your account. Now your MFA authentication method is setup, and you can access your account.
Now that your account has had its authentication method setup, you can move freely inside of your account. Every time you sign into your account, you will receive a text message and will be prompted to input the code that you received inside that text message.
